Software Outsourcing Your Way

Software development outsourcing gives companies access to senior engineering teams without the overhead of full-time hires. Per Deloitte, 70% of companies cite cost reduction as the primary driver, but speed to hire and skills access are closing fast. TechQuarter has delivered custom software for clients across the globe since 2014. Costs range from $50,000 to $500,000+ depending on scope and model.

Bespoke outsourcing software consulting services

Outsourcing software development means trusting someone else with your roadmap, your data, and your timeline. These are the independent standards we hold ourselves to: so you don’t have to take our word for it.

Why techquarter as your software development outsourcing company

All our services, from a full product launch to providing a dedicated development team or a single developer, are grounded in a customer-centric approach and cutting-edge tech expertise.

Technical Staff Augumentation

Plug senior engineers, designers, or QA specialists directly into your existing team. They report to your leads, follow your processes, and ramp up in days. Best when you have the strategy and management capacity in-house but need extra hands fast — without the long-term commitment of full-time hires. Choose this when: You need to hit a sprint deadline, fill a niche skill gap, or scale capacity for a single initiative.

Dedicated Delivery Team

A self-contained, Agile-based team, engineers, QA, design, and a delivery lead, working as an extension of your business toward shared product objectives. Aligned with your leadership, owning their roadmap, and accountable for outcomes. Choose this when: You’re building or scaling a product over multiple quarters and want a stable team that owns delivery end-to-end.

Project Based

A fixed-scope, fixed-timeline, fixed-budget engagement for clearly defined outcomes. We invest upfront in discovery to understand the full picture, then deliver against an agreed scope. Predictable, structured, and ideal when the destination is clear. Choose this when: You have a well-defined MVP, a migration, a modernization, or a discrete feature build with a hard deadline.

Custom Software Outsourcing FAQ

Software development outsourcing is the practice of contracting an external partner to design, build, test, or maintain software on your behalf — instead of (or in addition to) using an in-house team. It can range from a single senior developer plugged into your existing team, to a full dedicated team owning a product end-to-end. The right model depends on your scope, timeline, and how much delivery capacity you already have internally.
Almost any task across the software development lifecycle can be outsourced. The most common are: Web and mobile app development (new builds, modernizations, migrations) UI/UX design and product discovery Software QA and test automation DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and managed services AI/ML feature development and integrations Maintenance, support, and feature iteration on existing products Fractional technical leadership and architecture review Companies usually outsource the work that’s either outside their core competency or that would take too long to staff internally.
There are four engagement models that cover the vast majority of outsourcing relationships: Staff augmentation — individual specialists embedded in your team Dedicated delivery team — a self-contained, long-running team owning a product or initiative Project-based — fixed-scope, fixed-budget engagements with defined outcomes Technical leadership / fractional CTO — senior advisory and architecture support A good software outsourcing company will help you pick the right model — and let you switch between them as your needs evolve. At TechQuarter, we offer all four.
The honest answer: it depends, and the biggest variable is almost always scope. A two-week proof-of-concept and a multi-year platform rebuild are both “outsourced software development,” but they live in completely different cost universes. Four factors drive the final number: Scope and complexity. What you’re actually building is the single biggest cost lever. A landing page with a form, a mobile MVP with three core flows, a multi-tenant SaaS platform, and an enterprise system integrating with legacy ERPs are four very different conversations. Scope covers the feature set, the number of integrations, the data complexity, compliance requirements (HIPAA, PCI, SOC 2, GDPR), expected user load, and how much existing infrastructure the new system has to play nicely with. Engagement model. Staff augmentation is usually billed at a transparent monthly or hourly rate per role. Dedicated teams are billed monthly based on team composition. Project-based work is quoted as a fixed price after a discovery phase — which is exactly where scope gets nailed down. Team seniority and mix. A team of two senior engineers costs differently than a team of one tech lead, two mid-level engineers, a QA, and a designer — even if both ship the same feature. The right mix depends on the work, not on a generic “team template.” Geography. A senior engineer in a nearshore model typically costs significantly less than a US-based full-time hire once you factor in benefits, recruiting, and ramp-up — while delivering comparable seniority. This is why we run a short discovery conversation before quoting anything. Putting a number on outsourced software development without understanding scope is how projects end up over budget and under-delivered. For a precise estimate against your actual requirements, book a call and we’ll walk you through it.
